LACK OF COLOR DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As shown by its almost water-white appearance, Paratherm HE has an extremely low level of impurities. This is the result of the extended processing required to achieve it’s HT1 Rating-approved for incidental food contact by NSF-which removes the impurities that can catalyze fluid degradation. These impurities (such as aromatics, asphaltenes and sulfur bearing compounds) give lesser quality mineral-oil based fluids a slight to moderate yellow color.

LOW VAPOR PRESSURE EQUALS GREATER STABILITY IN VENTED EXPANSION TANKS

Any vapors that are given off by a heat transfer fluid inside a vented expansion tank will react with air to produce the acids that eventually can cause sludge formation and fluid gelling. The higher the vapor pressure, the more vapor is produced and the greater the rate of oxidation. Paratherm HE has a negligible vapor pressure that produces almost no reaction with air in vented expansion tanks.

GLT HEAT TRANSFER FLUID

ECONOMICAL CONTINUOUS SERVICE

Paratherm™ GLT Heat Transfer Fluid exhibited almost 40% less degradation when exposed to 600°F (316°C) for 500 hours than a widely used competitive fluid. Although very few heaters expose the fluid to the maximum film temperature for extended periods, this level of stability helps insure that your system operates trouble free during operating upsets. Minimum startup temperature is a realistic measure of a fluid’s low temperature capability since 300 cps is the maximum viscosity that a centrifugal pump can handle. Paratherm GLT Heat Transfer Fluid has a lower minimum start-up temperature 18°F (-6°C) than any mineral-oil based fluids that cover a similar temperature range.

MR HEAT TRANSFER FLUID

Single Fluid Heating/Cooling – Non-Toxic

The Paratherm™ MR mid-range heat transfer fluid is rated for service from 36°F to 550°F. It is efficient across the temperature range, thermally stable and cost-effective. Non-aromatic and non-toxic, the food-grade fluid is safe to use and is easy to dispose. Used or contaminated fluid can be safely combined with spent lubricating oils and recycled locally. Designed for a broad variety of applications such as batch reactors, laminating lines and plastics mold temperature control, the Paratherm™ MR is tough and durable. Engineered to provide outstanding performance under demanding conditions, it is easy and safe to handle – a pleasant alternative to synthetic aromatic fluids.

High Temperature Stability Paratherm HR Heat Transfer Fluid offers greater thermal stability than competitive aromatic based fluids that cover similar temperature ranges. Testing (ASTM D6743) shows that, compared to its closest competitor, Paratherm HR Heat Transfer Fluid experiences 1/2 the amount of fluid degradation when maintained at 700°F for 500 hours. Less degradation means less maintenance and longer fluid life.

Low Temperature Startup

Centrifugal pumps are generally specified around the fluid viscosity at the desired operating temperature (usually less than 2 cps). Capacity falls off significantly above 300 cps. So the actual minimum start-up temperature of a fluid is where the viscosity curve crosses the 300 cps line. Paratherm HR Heat Transfer Fluid’s lower cold start-up temperature of 13°F (-11°C) offers a significant advantage over other high temperature fluids.

Partially hydrogenated terphenyls have been used successfully in high temperature heat transfer applications for many years. Because it meets the quality standards users have come to expect of this type of chemical, Paratherm HT is fully compatible with existing installations that require topping off or full replacement.

THERMAL FLUIDS

Paratherm’s high temperature heat transfer fluids are engineered for high-temperature performance. These thermal oils have service temperatures of 3ºC to 357 ºC (37ºF to 675° F).

1000 liter (264.2 gallon) cage totes consist of a polyethylene bottle inside a tubular steel shipping frame.

All Paratherm drums are 55-gallon (208-liter) steel, unlined and sealed with white plastic bung covers.

Bulk shipments require a delivery schedule. 6000 gallons is the recommended capacity of a tank truck.
